The Product Manager is responsible for identifying customer and market needs, developing a 12-month strategic plan/roadmap that aligns to business goals, and planning and executing to that vision. The Product Manager closely partners with Engineering to solve complex business and client problems that drive solutions that delight our users and clients. The Product Manager manages product development deliverables, such as requirements documentation, analytics, design reviews, implementation, and delivery. This person will lead the gathering and prioritization of product and client requirements.
Starting base pay for this role is between $122,000 and $145,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).
Roadmaps and Product Strategy:
Owns the 12-month product roadmap and align the scrum team around delivery of high value business outcomes.
Researches and identifies emerging market and technology needs to influence the market roadmap and promote innovation and differentiation.
Uses data to validate roadmap prioritization and proposed solution builds. Ensures that we are solving the right problems and that these problems are worth solving.
Builds deep business domain and user and client expertise to identify product and market opportunities.
Acts as the subject matter expert for their assigned product and market.
Requirement Creation:
In partnership with Engineering, Design and Architecture teams, builds system designs.
Validates all product & engineering artifacts (User Stories/Acceptance Criteria, Visual Collaboration documents, design documents, etc.) to ensure risks to value, viability, feasibility, and usability are addressed upfront.
Backlog Maintenance, Prioritization, and Scrum Team Support:
Participates in quarterly release planning activities, driving direction and prioritization for each quarter.
Serves as the product owner of the scrum team to plan the work of the team and resolve in-sprint issues.
Acts as a ruthless “prioritizer” while balancing the needs of clients and stakeholders.
Performs necessary backlog maintenance, such as identifying escalated feature or bug requests and preparing them for upcoming sprints.
In partnership with Engineering, Design and Architecture teams, builds system designs; Validates all system designs that impact your product.
In conjunction with the Product Analyst, oversees that the totality of delivered user stories meet the epic’s definition of done.
Serves as the day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drives the teams’ refinement ceremony.
Acts as the product point of contact for all sprint ceremonies: sprint planning, refinement, sprint demo, retrospective, etc.
Ensures backlog health meets the demands of the team as set/determined by Product Leadership.
Performs functional testing and confirm sprint demos to ensure delivery of quality software.
Business Partnership:
Partners with business stakeholders, and specifically Market Strategy Leaders, to align to strategic long-term roadmaps and ensure delivery of the aligned product outcomes.
Aligns stakeholders across the organization to ensure transparency of prioritization and roadmap status.
Acts as a liaison between stakeholder and development teams.
Drives the agenda and facilitate meetings with Analysts to obtain roadmap feedback.
Partners with marketing and operations to provide market and product responses to RFIs.

Bachelor’s Degree in technology, business, liberal arts, science, or engineering.
Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills and a high attention to detail
Business acumen to identify opportunities, facilitate strategic planning, and use data and storytelling to influence.
Ability to balance short term needs with long-term strategy.
Strong relationship building skills, including an ability to influence stakeholders and scrum team members.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) across all levels of the organization.
Experience overseeing all or some phases of the product development lifecycle.
Experience working in agile methodologies and working on an agile team.
Prior Risk Management and/or P&C Insurance experience strongly preferred.
