Overview

The Director of Field Marketing & Events leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of the company’s event portfolio, driving demand generation, pipeline acceleration, and customer engagement for Origami Risk, a high-growth B2B SaaS organization. This leader oversees all aspects of sales kick-offs (SKOs), client conferences, field events, tradeshows, and strategic partner events, ensuring alignment with go-to-market priorities. Partnering closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and Executive Leadership, this role delivers high-impact experiences that strengthen relationships, build brand presence, and drive measurable business outcomes.

 

Starting base pay for this role is between $145,000 and $165,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).

Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Leadership

  • Develops and owns the events strategy, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives, regional market needs, and integrated marketing plans.
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and post-event analysis for flagship events including annual sales kickoffs, client conferences, field marketing activations, and industry tradeshows.
  • Defines event goals, success metrics, and reporting frameworks to measure ROI and business impact.
  • Ensures events reinforce brand positioning, communicate key value propositions, and deliver a differentiated attendee experience.

Program Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partners with Sales leadership to design high-value SKOs that inspire, educate, and enable the sales organization to achieve annual objectives
  • Works with Origami leaders to define and set strategic event goals and key performance indicators (e.g., event positioning, financial goals/pricing, registration/audience targets, growth targets, attendee satisfaction etc.).
  • Collaborates with Origami stakeholders to determine appropriate engagement of Origami cross functional staff to support events.
  • Leads creation of scalable field marketing programs that drive pipelines and deepen customer engagement across strategic accounts.
  • Works with Product Marketing and Demand Generation teams to integrate event content into broader campaign and enablement programs. Operational Excellence & Team Leadership
  • Leads a high-performing team of event and field marketing professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Leads all performance management activities, including team member reviews and compensation processes.
  • Manages budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising quality.
  • Implements best practices for event operations, including project management, creative production, attendee engagement, and post-event follow-up.
  • Oversees event technology platforms, ensuring effective attendee management, lead capture, and reporting.

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Tracks event performance through dashboards and analytics, reporting results to executive stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluates and optimizes the event portfolio, reallocating resources to programs with the highest impact.
  • Leverages attendee feedback, sales insights, and market data to refine future event strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 5 years in senior-level field marketing or events leadership roles within the SaaS industry.
  • Proven success leading large-scale events (1,000+ attendees) as well as targeted, account-based programs.
  • Experience driving measurable pipeline impact through integrated event strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
  • Strong budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor management experience.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with event management platforms, CRM, and marketing automation tools.
