Overview

The AI Engineer is responsible for leading the integration of intelligent automation, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring all AI practices are ethical, efficient, and future ready. This person is the go-to expert for all things AI across the Cloud Operations team.

 

This role involves access to proprietary systems and sensitive information, and may be subject to confidentiality and information security requirements as defined by company policies and applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements AI solutions to automate and enhance workflows for database performance, application reliability, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Engineers and Operations teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
  • Champions AI practices, optimizing model performance and resource usage while tracking environment cost.
  • Integrates AI into observability and incident response tools, improving detection, prediction, and resolution capabilities.
  • Establishes governance frameworks for responsible AI usage, including bias mitigation, model transparency, and compliance.
  • Educates and enables teams, providing guidance on AI tools, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Ability to legally work in the Dominican Republic
  • Fluency in English
  • Associates degree or equivilant experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and MLOps tools.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, SumoLogic) and automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of MSSQL database systems, application performance, and reliability engineering.
  • Passion for technology and ethical AI development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
