Overview

Origami Risk is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to be part of a rapidly growing team that’s responsible for design, build and delivery of the application stacks for product teams in a cloud-based environment. You will be working closely with software and QA engineers, to build and maintain the right cloud infrastructure, balancing performance and resilience with cost. As part of a growing team focused on emergent technologies, you will create CI/CD pipelines and work across functions such as development, testing, and production to ensure quality, security, and reliability.  

 

This role involves access to proprietary systems and sensitive information, and may be subject to confidentiality and information security requirements as defined by company policies and applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Manages intake, assignment, and resolution of escalated Jira tickets.
  • Investigates and resolves critical system issues.
  • Provides Level 2 technical support.
  • Collaborates with Development team to build code, manage issues, and successfully deploy software automations into the environment.
  • Assists engineers in managing version control branches/tags.
  • Develops automated practices and recommend improvements.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to optimize builds, tests, and deployment workflows.
  • Works to continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of the build and test systems.
  • Uses Agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead deployments of major product releases, patches, and daily changes.
  • Works with engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Builds tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
  • Ensures that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Works across Development, IT Operations, and Infrastructure teams to support ongoing development efforts and new initiatives to deliver value to our stakeholders and customers quickly.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves deployment and configuration issues in our development, QA, and production cloud environments.

Qualifications

  • Ability to legally work in the Dominican Republic
  • Fluency in English
  • Associates degree or equivilant experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services, NGINX, VPN, and Ansible (or similar tools like Puppet/Chef) 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (ADO, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy)
  • Experience with Windows Server 2019, RHEL, and CentOS
  • Knowledge of IIS, Active Directory, and MSSQL
  • Experience with Docker, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS
